James Harrison calls Roger Goodell a 'crook,' wants interview televised

James Harrison has agreed to talk to the NFL, but he’s not happy about it.

The Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker, along with Green Bay Packers linebackers Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers, will speak to the NFL about the Al Jazeera America report in which they were accused of PED use. A fourth player, former defensive lineman Mike Neal, has not yet agreed to speak to the NFL.

Harrison, Peppers and Matthews are speaking to the league to avoid suspension, but Harrison made it clear that he’s not thrilled about it and took a shot at NFL commissioner Roger Goodell (it’s not the first time).

“If it goes to a conduct detrimental, it leans to the hands of that crook, I mean Roger Goodell, and he can do whatever he wants,” Harrison told a group of reporters, via ESPN.com.

Harrison’s stance is that the NFL has no evidence against him and he has done nothing wrong. He suggested that the entire interview be televised.

“I wouldn’t have a problem with it being filmed, live. I’ve been prosecuted and persecuted publicly in the media by them for something I didn’t do, so I don’t see why we couldn’t have the media there to do a live interview,” Harrison said, according to the Associated Press. “They can ask me questions and I can answer them and y’all can see whatever evidence they say they’ve got or don’t have.”

Now that would be fun to watch. The interview with Harrison is unlikely to be a friendly one. Harrison said of talking to the NFL, “they can get their little 23 seconds or whatever.”

“They don’t have credible evidence. Period. End of discussion,” Harrison said, according to NFL.com.
