The Rockets shot really well in this one, going 37-72 (51.4%) from the field and 25-41 (61.0%) at the free throw line. This is the third victory in a row for Houston (26-14).
Harden went 7-14 from the field (2-3 on 3-pointers) and 10-11 from the free throw line. Other top performers for Houston were Chandler Parsons with 17 points and 8 rebounds, and Dwight Howard with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Eric Gordon had another strong game for New Orleans despite the loss, putting up 35 points on 11-17 shooting (6-9 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 7-8 from the free throw line. Anthony Davis chipped in 24 points and 7 rebounds and Jason Smith finished with 10 points and 6 rebounds.
New Orleans (15-23) has now lost seven straight.
Coming up, the Rockets square off with the Oklahoma City Thunder, who are 28-10 on the season. The Pelicans meet the Golden State Warriors, currently sitting at 25-14 this year. The Rockets have a 0-1 record against Oklahoma City this season. The Pelicans have lost to Golden State the last two times they have played.
