James Harden scored 41 points and recorded 10 rebounds to help the Houston Rockets steal one from the Portland Trail Blazers, 118-113. Houston (44-19) has now won five straight games.
Harden shot 12-28 from the field (7-12 on 3-pointers) and 10-11 from the free throw line. He registered 6 steals and 6 assists as well. Other top performers for Houston were Dwight Howard with 17 points and 12 rebounds, and Chandler Parsons with 16 points and 7 rebounds. LaMarcus Aldridge had another big game for Portland despite the loss, scoring 28 points on 10-27 shooting from the field and 7-10 from the free throw line. He also registered 12 rebounds. Robin Lopez added 11 points and 11 rebounds and Mo Williams finished with 10 points and 11 assists.
This drops Portland (42-21) to 1-3 versus Houston on the season.
Coming up, the Rockets battle the Oklahoma City Thunder, who are 46-17 on the season. The Trail Blazers match up with the Memphis Grizzlies, currently sitting at 36-26 this year. The Rockets lost their last two meetings with Oklahoma City. The Trail Blazers have a 0-1 record against Memphis this season.
