Terrence Jones put up 21 points and recorded 14 rebounds, his seventh double-double of the season, to lead the Houston Rockets to a victory over the San Antonio Spurs, 111-98. The Rockets shot really well in this one, going 45-86 (52.3%) from the field, including 12-24 (50.0%) from three-point range. Houston (19-11) picked up the win after falling to the Dallas Mavericks on Monday.
Jones went 9-20 from the field. Houston also got solid performances from James Harden with 28 points and 6 rebounds, Chandler Parsons with 21 points and 6 rebounds, and Dwight Howard with 15 points and 20 rebounds. Despite the loss, Manu Ginobili scored 22 points off the bench for San Antonio on 8-17 shooting, including 3-7 from behind the arc. Tim Duncan contributed 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Along with their eFG% of 59.3%, the Rockets connected at a rate of 50.0% from 3-point range. On the season, they are undefeated (8-0) when they record marks above 55% and 40% in those respective categories. Conversely, the Spurs are winless (0-4) when allowing their opponents to reach those percentages.
This drops San Antonio (22-7) to 0-2 against Houston on the year.
