James Harden put up 37 points to help the Houston Rockets pull out the close victory against the New York Knicks, 102-100. Houston (22-13) gets one in the win column after losing to Sacramento on Tuesday.
Harden shot 10-19 (5-10 from three-point range) and 12-12 from the free throw line, in a strong performance. Other key players for Houston included Chandler Parsons with 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Dwight Howard with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Iman Shumpert had a rare big game for New York in the loss, scoring 26 points on 9-14 shooting, including 6-6 from behind the arc. Tyson Chandler contributed 13 points and 11 rebounds and Beno Udrih finished with 10 points and 7 assists.
This drops New York (10-22) to 0-2 against Houston on the year.
Coming up, the Rockets take on the Los Angeles Lakers, who are 13-19 on the season. The Knicks meet the Dallas Mavericks, currently sitting at 19-14 this year. The Rockets are 0-1 versus Los Angeles this season.
