With a short second-quarter shot Wednesday at Oakland, LeBron James became the youngest player in NBA history to score 20,000 career points. James entered the Miami Heat's game against the Golden State Warriors 18 points short of the milestone. With a first-quarter pass that set up Dwyane Wade for a basket, James also recorded his 5,000th career assist. Asked the significance of the 20,000-point mark before the Heat's game Monday against the Utah Jazz, James said, "It means I've been able to stay healthy, for one. I've been able to be around teammates that allow me to play at a high level. It is more than a number." USA Today Sports, citing stats from Basketball-Reference.com, said James became the 11th player in NBA history with 20,000 points, 5,000 rebounds and 5,000 assists. James, 28, is in his 10th pro season. He spent his first seven years with the Cleveland Cavaliers, then won his first NBA title last season with the Heat.
