Recommendation: Jurrjens and the Orioles originally agreed to a major league deal back in January, but injury concerns forced the team to reconsider, and Jurrjens had to settle for a minor league contract with an invite to spring training. After recording 13 wins and posting a 2.96 ERA in 2011, Jurrjens struggled last season. Atlanta demoted the right-hander after just four starts, and while he had a few good outings after getting the call back, things quickly went south. Still, Jurrjens showed promise earlier in his career, and he'll now get a chance to compete for a spot in the Orioles' rotation.
