Jaguars get snubbed in Madden 17 ratings

The Jacksonville Jaguars became one of the NFL’s most improved teams over the offseason. Their moves on both offense and defense have helped make the team transform into a playoff contender. So surely, the folks over at EA Sports would have taken notice by giving the Jags a significantly higher rating in the upcoming Madden video game, right?

Well, yeah. They did. But it’s still not good enough.

EA recently released their team ratings for Madden 17, and the Jaguars were given a 78 overall rating. Their offense and defense were both rated an 81 overall. This is improvement over last year’s Madden, where they ended up with a 73 overall.

Despite these improvements, the Jags are still tied for the sixth-worst team in the league, according to EA. The two teams they’re tied with? The Indianapolis Colts and the Los Angeles Rams. While the Colts are also a victim of an undeservingly low rating, the Rams aren’t expected to be a playoff contender this year.

Want some even more disgusting news? These are a couple of teams rated higher than the Jaguars: the Chargers, the Lions, the Eagles and – here’s the kicker – the Titans.

WHAT?!?

Even worse, the Titans were one overall worse than the Jags last year. They didn’t add nearly as much talent as Jacksonville did, and they didn’t even improve over last season; they were the worst team in the last year. How EA decided that the Titans were better than the Jaguars is beyond me.

It seems like EA Sports is sleeping on the Jags this year. Now it’s Jacksonville’s turn to make them look wrong.
