Jaguars sign defensive end, safety

The SportsXchange

The Jacksonville Jaguars on Wednesday signed defensive end Pannel Egboh and safety Chris Banjo bringing the number of players under contract to 61.

Egboh, 6-foot-6, 277 pounds, is a second-year player who appeared in 12 games last season with the Tennessee Titans. He has also spent time with San Francisco, Houston and Philadelphia after being signed as a rookie free agent by the 49ers in 2009.

Egboh went to Stanford originally as a tight end, but was switched to defensive end following his freshman season.

Banjo, 5-foot-10, 204 pounds, was not in the NFL last year after trying out with the Oakland Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers.
