Wide receiver Laurent Robinson was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars one year into the five-year, $32.5 million deal he signed in March 2012.
The Jaguars signed linebacker Geno Hayes to a one-year deal later in the day Wednesday. Hayes, a five-year veteran, spent four seasons with the Buccaneers and played as a reserve for the Chicago Bears in 2012.
Robinson suffered four documented concussions last season and said recently he still didn't feel healthy.
He caught 24 passes for 252 yards last season on the heels of an 11-touchdown season with the Dallas Cowboys. In 2011, Robinson caught 54 passes for 858 yards (15.9 yards per reception) with Dallas.
Robinson passed a physical with the Jaguars this week, but reportedly informed team trainers that he didn't feel right during a workout Tuesday, according to the Associated Press.
Robinson was owed a $2 million roster bonus on Saturday.
Former general manager Gene Smith was fired in part for failed free agent deals, some of which owner Shad Khan labeled "delusional."
