Jaguars interested in bringing Chad Henne back

National Football Post

Though the Jacksonville Jaguars may be inclined to draft a quarterback with the third overall pick, they do seem interested in keeping at least one signal caller already on their roster.

The Jaguars have plans to reach out to Chad Henne's representation, according to a report from the Florida Times-Union. Though Henne may not be a long-term starting option for Jacksonville, he does provide a veteran presence that's capable enough on offense.

“You never know [about the market],” Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell said. “It doesn’t matter if it’s a big market or a small market. All it takes is one team.”

Other Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert, however, will enter the last season of a four-year, $12 million deal he signed in 2011. A previous report from the Times-Union indicated the Jaguars had no plans to release him. Of course, that could change if Henne's brought back and if a rookie quarterback out-shines both of them during the preseason.
