Jags' coach Mularkey hospitalized, expected back Tuesday

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey was taken to a local hospital on Monday, causing the cancellation of his regular Monday press conference, the Florida Times-Union reported.

Mularkey was examined by the team's training staff before going to Baptist Medical Center for tests.

Mularkey was scheduled to be released from the hospital Monday evening and is expected to return to work on Tuesday.

Defensive coordinator Mel Tucker, who ran the usual Monday team meetings, told the Times-Union Mularkey came to the team's office Monday morning but later felt ill.

"He was here this morning, he didn't feel well, went down to the trainer's room and they took it from there," Tucker said, according to the Times-Union.

Tucker spoke to Mularkey by phone later in the day.

"He seemed to be doing good," Tucker said. "I look forward to having him back here tomorrow."
