Jadeveon Clowney runs an unofficial 4.47

South Carolina defensive end Jadaveon Clowney delivered on his prediction, running the 40-yard dash in an unofficial 4.47 time today at the NFL scouting combine.

Clowney bench pressed 225 pounds 21 times on Sunday, less than most defensive linemen. However, it shouldn't affect his sky-high draft stock.

Clowney had a quick response when asked why the Houston Texans should make him the first overall pick of the draft rather than a quarterback.

"You watched the Super Bowl," said Clowney in a reference to the Seattle Seahawks' dominating defensive performance against the Denver Broncos. "Defense wins championships."

Clowney is a freakish athlete at 6-foot-5, 266 pounds.

"I want to be one of the best," Clowney said. "I want to be one of the greatest of all time.''

Clowney admitted that he would have gone to the NFL after his sophomore year if the rules allowed him to do so.

Reacting to South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier saying that he wasn't the hardest worker, Clowney replied: Once I get to the NFL my career is going to go up."
