JACKSON, Miss. (AP) -- Julysses Nobles hit a 3-pointer with a second left to lift give Jackson State the 73-70 victory over Louisiana-Lafayette Thursday night.
Nobles led Jackson State (4-7) with 14 points, and Brandon West pulled down 13 rebounds to go with his 12 points and four blocks.
Marcus Love hit two free throws to give the Tigers a 67-64 lead with 1:15 remaining. He hit a layup after a missed Louisiana-Lafayette (8-4) shot, pushing the lead to five.
Elfrid Payton immediately responded with a 3-pointer in transition for the Ragin' Cajuns.
Love hit one of two free throws after the ensuing foul, and Xavian Rimmer tied the game on a 3 with nine seconds left, setting the stage for Nobles.
Payton scored 22 points, finishing 6 of 18 from the field and 8 of 16 from the line. Rimmer finished with 14 points while Shawn Long added 16 and grabbed 19 boards.
