Jackets' Dubinsky fined $10,000 for hit

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Brandon Dubinsky avoided a suspension for his hit Tuesday night on Rob Scuderi of the Los Angeles Kings, but the NHL fined him $10.000 for his actions.

Scuderi was near the end boards when Dubinsky hit him at 11:29 of the second period. Dubinsky received a major penalty for boarding and a game misconduct.

Scuderi was upset afterward but stopped short of saying Dubinsky deserved punishment from the league.

"That's not my decision," Scuderi told the Los Angeles Times. "That's the league's decision, and it's in their hands."

The Kings defeated the Blue Jackets 4-2 in Columbus.
