Jack Del Rio feeling it, throws shade on ESPN's research team
If you’re Oakland Raiders coach Jack Del Rio, you’re walking around with a little extra swagger after Sunday’s game. When you go for a 2-point conversion in the final minute and make it for the win, you’re allowed.
ESPN’s research team got smart and posted the probabilities of the Raiders winning by going for 2 versus kicking the extra point and playing for overtime late in Sunday’s win over the New Orleans Saints.

Huh. I’m not quite sure why the Raiders would have a 51 percent chance of beating the Saints in overtime, not to mention extra points aren’t automatic anymore, but OK. In any case, the Raiders went for 2, Derek Carr hit Michael Crabtree to give Oakland the lead, and the Saints missed a long field goal on the final play. Oakland won 35-34.
Well, Del Rio found ESPN’s fancy stats on Twitter and he wasn’t letting anyone get over on him, not on Sunday.
