According to Larry Holder of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the hope is Greer will be back on the field at practice later this month, perhaps the week of the club’s fourth preseason game on Aug. 25. Interim head coach Joe Vitt said that Greer will “definitely be ready for the regular season. Some guys are quicker (to heal) than others.”
Greer was injured Tuesday in practice and the club and its medical staff acted quickly to get him treated in Philadelphia by specialist Dr. William Meyers. The Saints signed Greer to a $23 million, three-year extension in the spring and are expecting big things from him. He was healthy all last season after injuries took a toll on the previous two years for him.
Hopefully, Greer is one of those quick healers Vitt referenced.
