D-Backs manager Kirk Gibson said that he is not planning on removing Putz from the closer role at this time, the Arizona Republic reports. "Not right now," Gibson said when asked if he'd considered removing Putz from the role. "We just lost the game. He feels as bad as anybody. I'm aware of the blown saves. Given that, we've battled back pretty good, (and I) actually thought we'd come back and at least tie it up and win the game later."
Recommendation: The bigger question in Arizona might be -- who gets the nod if Gibson elects to make a change at some point? After scuffling in his first three appearances of the season, Heath Bell is pitching much better since and has a 15:1 K:BB for the season while David Hernandez has struggled at times.
