Update: Thomas (ankle) started Wednesday's season-opening loss to the Bulls, scoring 10 points (3-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT) with an assist in 25 minutes.
Recommendation: Thomas won the starting job over veteran guard Aaron Brooks. There was speculation that Brooks could have taken over because coach Keith Smart had been starting both players during the preseason. Brooks did see 23 minutes off the bench, so there appears to be a time split between the two going forward with Thomas having the slight edge.
