Norfolk State allowed its highest point total of the season while losing its third consecutive game, falling 100-72 to Iona on Sunday at New Rochelle, N.Y.
During the losing streak, Norfolk State (6-8) has allowed 82.67 points per game.
Iona (6-5) became the second straight opponent to top 50 percent shooting against the Spartans. The Gaels fired at 50.4 percent after North Carolina State shot better than 57 percent in an 84-62 win over Norfolk State in Raleigh last week.
The Gaels took control Sunday with a 10-0 run that gave them a 37-24 advantage at the final media timeout of the first half.
Norfolk State trailed by double digits for the entire second half, and Iona turned the game into a rout in the final eight minutes.
Pendarvis Williams led the Spartans with 15 points. Rashid Gaston added 13 points and Zieyik Estime scored 12 for Norfolk State.
Lamont Jones scored 24 points and David Laury had 20 for Iona. Taaj Ridley added 10 points and nine rebounds, leading the Gaels to a 41-25 advantage on the boards.
Norfolk State's stretch of five consecutive road games continues Saturday at East Carolina.
