Brazil will be looking for its fifth consecutive victory when it faces Japan, which is fresh from an impressive win over France, in Wroclaw on Tuesday.

Mano Menezes was expected to name the same starting XI to that which crushed Iraq 6-0 last week but has been forced into one change. After breaking a bone in his foot, Real Madrid's Marcelo has had to withdraw from the squad and so Leandro Castan will deputize at left back.

Similarly, Alberto Zaccheroni could name an unchanged side as the Blue Samarai look for their second scalp of the international break. Hero of the Stade de France, Shinji Kagawa, will start in attacking midfield while in-form Takashi Inui could be in contention for a place in the team.

  DID YOU KNOW?
  • Brazil came out on top the last time these two sides met. A Ronaldo double sent the Selecao on their way to a 4-1 win at World Cup 2006.
  • The Canarinho have won their last five fixtures, netting a total of 20 goals while conceding just one.

  • Mano Menezes may well hand a debut to Roma center back Leandro Castan. The former Corinthians man may be forced to play out of position following Marcelo's withdrawal.
  • Japan has never managed to triumph over Brazil in the eight times that they have met. (W0 D2 L6)

  • Yasuhito Endo (pictured right) will make his 123rd appearance for the Blue Samarai should he feature on Tuesday, making him the country's all-time most-capped player.

  • The East Asian side lies just nine places lower in the FIFA Rankings than its 14th-placed opponent.
  • As 2011 Asian Cup champion, Japan will travel to Brazil in 2013 to take part in the Confederations Cup.
