Injury Roundup: Week 11

Raymond Summerlin checks in on Jameis Winston, Leonard Fournette, Emmanuel Sanders, and the biggest fantasy names on the Week 9 injury report

The Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts offensive skill players top the injury roundup this week with two integral members of each offense getting knocked out of their respective games. Let's take a closer look at the damage.

Editor's Note: Rotoworld's partner FanDuel is hosting a one-week $2.5 Million Fantasy Football league for Week 12's games. It's only $25 to join and first prize is $300,000. Starts Sunday, November 23rd at 1pm ET. Here's the link.

Emmanuel Sanders took a big hit in the third quarter of the Broncos loss to the Rams and was forced from the game with a concussion. Sanders left his feet and stretched out for a pass down the sideline when he was rocked by Rodney McCloud. He’ll have to become symptom-free and then pass a series of tests before gaining clearance to play. For now, we'll consider him questionable for Week 12 against the Dolphins.

Julius Thomas went down early in this game with a sprained ankle and never returned. He was ruled out quickly, but ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting the sprain is not thought to be a "high" sprain. That is good news and gives him some chance to return next week, but be sure to secure a backup as we close in on the fantasy playoffs.

Montee Ball wasn’t as big a loss to the Broncos as Sanders or Thomas since they have been without him for the last five weeks, but depth at the position is getting thin after he re-injured his groin against the Rams. He hurt himself after his first play, but was allowed to go back in where he then hurt himself again and is most likely out for a while. He will get an MRI on Monday to see the extent, but expect C.J. Anderson to be the main man for these next few important fantasy weeks, while Juwan Thompson will be his handcuff.

Ahmad Bradshaw suffered a left ankle injury against the Patriots Sunday night. He was caught up in the pile on a goal line carry and had to leave the game. We’ll know more after he gets testing, but if he misses any time we’ll unfortunately see more Trent Richardson while Dan Herron would move up to the #2 spot.

Dwayne Allen was carted to the locker room with an ankle injury Sunday night against the Patriots. We don’t the extent of the injury, but Coby Fleener stepped up big after he left and would become a top play in that offense if Allen were to miss any time.

Ryan Matthews was seen limping out of the locker room following Sunday's win over the Raiders. There are no official reports from the team regarding his knee, but it’s safe to assume his sprained MCL may not be 100%. Brandon Oliver remains a hold in all formats.

Philip Rivers suffered several in-game injuries, but never left the game against the Raiders. He did appear to be limited in the second half as his offensive line was giving up too much pressure and after the game Antonio Gates told beat reporters that Rivers “has been dealing with a rib injury, a very severe rib injury." That is news to everyone as Rivers hasn’t been on the injury report, but might help explain some of the Miami debacle. The Chargers get the surging Rams defense next week.

Calvin Johnson received treatment for his elbow following Sunday's loss at Arizona. Johnson wasn’t outwardly concerned, but it’s something to keep an eye on.

Larry Fitzgerald is scheduled for an MRI on his knee tomorrow, to look at his MCL. He was able to play through the knee injury against Detroit, so this appears to be a precaution.

Greg Jennings exited the Vikings game against the Bears with a rib injury and #3 receiver Jarius Wright was forced from the game with a hamstring injury. These injuries gave Charles Johnson some snaps, which he was productive with, but we’ll have to see how severe they are before we can make any determinations moving forward.

Jordan Reed is listed as having suffered a hamstring injury, but there hasn’t been a peep from any beat reporters. It’s worth keeping an eye on though as he’s already had a hamstring injury this season.
