Injury Report: Week 10

Raymond Summerlin dives into the injury reports to find all the fantasy-relevant news heading into Week 10 of the NFL season

Week 10 of the NFL season is here, and the Rotoworld crew has everything you need to have a winning week. Patrick Daugherty answers your lineup questions with his Week 10 Rankings, Nick Mensio tells you who to start and who to fade in Start’ Em or Sit ‘Em, and Evan Silva breaks down every matchup in his award-winning Matchups Column.

As for me, I am here to shed some light on the most important injury situations facing fantasy owners heading into the weekend. The sister resource to this column is the Rotoworld News Page, which will have every single inactive and all the late-breaking news up to kickoff and beyond. I also occasionally tweet about football @RMSummerlin.

Early Games
Bears @ Rams
* Jeff Fisher hinted Wes Welker, who was signed on Monday, will be active, but he is not and will not become useful in fantasy. Robert Quinn (knee, questionable) is on track to play after getting in limited practices Thursday and Friday. Rob Havenstein (ankle) and T.J. McDonald (foot) are also questionable. Chris Long (knee) is doubtful.

* Matt Forte (questionable) said he has seen a “ton of improvement” from his sprained knee this week. It would be surprising if Forte returned after just one game, especially considering they are playing on the turf in St. Louis. Even if he is active, Forte will be a fade in DFS in a poor matchup and with an uncertain workload. Alshon Jeffery (groin) is more likely to play than Forte, but he is still questionable after getting in just a limited practice Friday. With Eddie Royal (knee) out, Marquess Wilson could be the No. 1 receiver this week. Pernell McPhee (knee) is questionable after not practicing all week.

Browns @ Steelers
* Ben Roethlisberger (foot) was listed as questionable after getting in limited practices Thursday and Friday, but Gerry Dulac of The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported there is “no chance” he plays this week. Landry Jones will get the start against Cleveland, but it looks like Big Ben should return after the bye. With Roethlisberger out, Pittsburgh should lean heavily on DeAngelo Williams (foot, probable), who has a dream matchup. Williams is a legitimate threat to finish the week as the top fantasy running back. James Harrison (knee), Matt Spaeth (knee), Shamarko Thomas (knee) and Terence Garvin (knee) are out.

* Josh McCown (ribs) is listed as questionable after practicing on a limited basis all week, but The Cleveland Plain-Dealer’s Mary Kay Cabot reports Johnny Manziel (elbow, probable) will start his second game in a row. It is a small downgrade to Gary Barnidge. Tashaun Gipson (illness), Ibraheim Campbell (hamstring) and Jordan Poyer (shoulder) are questionable. Joel Bitonio (ankle), Joe Haden (concussion) and Donte Whitner (concussion) are out.

Jags @ Ravens
* Breshad Perriman (knee) remains out. Jeremy Zuttah (shoulder) is questionable, but he is expected to play after getting in a full practice Friday.

* Allen Hurns (foot, questionable) is “very confident” he will play this week after getting in a limited practice Friday. He will be a strong WR2 in a great matchup if he plays. Marqise Lee (hamstring, questionable) got in a full practice Friday and has declared himself ready to play. We may finally get to see The Albino Tiger again. Dan Skuta (groin) and Michael Bennett (hamstring) are questionable. James Sample (shoulder) is out.

Lions @ Packers
* Eddie Lacy (groin) is listed as questionable after practicing on just a limited basis all week. He should play, but Lacy has lost his starting job to James Starks. Even in a great matchup against the Lions, Lacy is just a risky RB3. Ty Montgomery (ankle), Mike Neal (hip) and Sam Shields (shoulder) are also questionable.

* Calvin Johnson (questionable) did not practice Friday, but he said the plan is for him to play this week. Johnson will be a low-end WR1 against a Packers’ secondary which has been decimated through the air the last three games. Isa Abdul-Quddus (foot) is also questionable. Rashean Mathis (concussion) is out.

Cowboys @ Bucs
* The Tampa Bay Times’ Greg Auman said coach Lovie Smith did not “sound optimistic” about Austin Seferian-Jenkins (shoulder, questionable) playing this week. Seferian-Jenkins has been practicing for three weeks, but he has yet to be cleared to play. With Vincent Jackson (knee) ruled out, Mike Evans should once again see a heavy workload. Evans has 28 targets total the last two games. Bradley McDougald (concussion) and Major Wright (hamstring) are questionable. D.J. Swearinger (toe) is doubtful. Ali Marpet (ankle) and Jacquies Smith (ankle) are out.

*
Dez Bryant (knee) caused some concern when he missed Wednesday’s practice, but he is probable. Rolando McClain was able to practice in full Thursday despite a hand issue he picked up last week, but he was held out Friday with a new foot injury. He is questionable. With Sean Lee (concussion) out and Anthony Hitchens (ankle) questionable, the Cowboys could be very thin at linebacker. Doug Martin would see a boost if all three miss. Nick Hayden (ankle) is questionable, and Brice Butler (hamstring) is out.

Panthers @ Titans
* Kendall Wright (knee) is out for the second game in a row. Dorial Green-Beckham has a great opportunity to build on his performance from last week. Jason McCourty (groin) is out this week, and he reportedly is considering season-ending groin surgery. With Perrish Cox (hamstring) and Blidi Wreh-Wilson (hamstring) questionable, the Titans’ once strong secondary could struggle against Cam Newton and company. Cox is expected to be a game-time decision. Dexter McCluster (ankle, probable) will play.

* Jonathan Stewart (ankle), Luke Kuechly (ankle) and Ryan Kalil (ankle) are all probable after practicing in full Friday. Dwan Edwards (ankle) is questionable, and Andrew Norwell (hamstring) is out.

Saints @ Redskins
* OC Sean McVay said he believes DeSean Jackson (not on injury report) is 100 percent healthy. He did not look it last week, but he has a great get right opportunity against the Saints. DeAngelo Hall (toe), Terrance Knighton (migraines), Andre Roberts (ankle) and Keenan Robinson (shoulder, neck) are questionable.

* Willie Snead (knee) was held out of practice Thursday, but he returned on Friday and is probable. He will be a WR2 in a great matchup. Terron Armstead (knee) is questionable after not practicing Friday. Dannell Ellerbe (hip), David Hawthorne (hamstring), Ramon Humber (hamstring) and Damian Swann (concussion) are out.

Dolphins @ Eagles
* DeMarco Murray (groin), Ryan Mathews (groin) and Nelson Agholor (ankle) are all probable. Agholor has been sidelined since Week 5, but no one cemented themselves in the No. 2 receiver role while he was gone. Jason Peters (back, questionable) got in a full practice Friday and should play. Josh Andrews (concussion) and Jerome Couplin (shoulder) are out.

* DeVante Parker (foot) is questionable, but it does not really matter. He is at best fourth on the depth chart. Billy Turner (knee) is also questionable. Ja’Wuan James (toe) is out, and Spencer Paysinger (neck) is doubtful.

Afternoon Games
Vikings @ Raiders
* Amari Cooper (quad) and Latavius Murray (concussion) are probable after getting in full sessions Friday. Both are strong plays. Neiron Ball (knee) is out, and Rodney Hudson (ankle) is doubtful.

* Teddy Bridgewater (concussion, questionable) is fully expected to play. Anthony Barr (arm, questionable) is expected to play after returning to practice Friday, but Eric Kendricks (ribs, doubtful) will miss. Marcus Sherels (shoulder) is questionable, and Justin Trattou (foot) is out.

Chiefs @ Broncos
* Emmanuel Sanders (ankle, questionable) is expected to be a game-time decision after not practicing all week. Sanders played through the ankle injury last week, but his owners should have a backup plan. Peyton Manning (foot) missed practice Wednesday, but he is listed as probable. DeMarcus Ware (back) is out, but Shane Ray (knee, probable) should be back.

* Ramik Wilson (ankle) is questionable. Allen Bailey (calf), Ben Grubbs (neck) and James O’Shaughnessy (foot) are out.

Patriots @ Giants

* Prince Amukamara (pectoral), Victor Cruz (calf), Larry Donnell (neck), J.T. Thomas (ankle) and Uani ‘Unga (neck) are out. Leon McFadden (groin) is questionable.

* Jamie Collins (illness) is out for the second week in a row. Marcus Cannon (toe), Tre’ Jackson (knee) and Sebastian Vollmer (concussion) are also out. Justin Coleman (hand), Keshawn Martin (hamstring), Shaq Mason (knee) and Jabaal Sheard (ankle) are questionable.

Sunday Night

Cardinals @ Seahawks
* Marshawn Lynch (questionable) was added to the injury report with an abdominal injury after missing practice Friday. Coach Pete Carrol expects Lynch to play, but adding Thomas Rawls is not a bad idea. David King (groin) is doubtful.

* John Brown (hamstring, questionable) remained limited in Friday’s practice and is expected to be a game-time decision. He should play after being limited all week, but his owners need a backup plan. Michael Floyd would get a boost if Brown misses. Lyle Sendlein (shoulder) is also questionable.

Monday Night
Texans @ Bengals
* Rey Maualuga (calf) and Vontaze Burfict (knee) are practicing this week. Both should play. Andre Smith (concussion) has not practiced yet this week.

* Nate Washington (hip) returned to full practice Friday. He and Cecil Shorts (hamstring) should be ready for Monday night. Kareem Jackson (ankle) has already been ruled out, and Jadeveon Clowney (back) looked poised to miss as well.
