Brasília (AFP) - Wesley Sneijder was a last-minute withdrawal from the Netherlands team for Saturday's World Cup third-place play-off against Brazil in Brasilia after injuring himself in the warm-up.
Sneidjer's place was taken by Jonathan de Guzman, meaning there are two changes to the Dutch team from Wednesday's semi-final loss to Argentina, the other seeing Jordy Clasie replace Nigel de Jong in midfield.
Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari made six changes to his starting line-up for the match at the Mane Garrincha National Stadium.
Captain Thiago Silva returned after missing the humiliating 7-1 semi-final defeat against Germany on Tuesday due to suspension.
Maxwell made his first appearance at the World Cup at left-back in place of Marcelo, while Willian started for his country for the first time, having made all of his 11 previous appearances from the bench.
Ramires and Paulinho, who came on at half-time against Germany with Brazil already trailing 5-0, were handed starts and Jo replaced the much-maligned Fred in attack.
As well as Fred and Marcelo, the other Brazil players to drop out were Dante, Fernandinho, Hulk and Bernard.
