Liverpool’s managing director Ian Ayre announced Indonesia as the latest destination for the English Premier League club's summer tour, having previously indicated that they will be traveling to Thailand and Australia, at a press conference held at Plaza Senayan on Thursday.
The match against an Indonesia Selection will be played at the Gelora Bung Karno stadium in Jakarta on July 20, after which Liverpool will head over to Melbourne on July 24 and rounding up their tour to Southeast Asia with a trip to Bangkok four days later.
Ayre who was accompanied by Reds legend Ian Rush said: “The last time we were in Asia was in 2011 but this will be the first time we are coming to Indonesia as we intend to bring the club closer to fans all over the world.”
Team manager Brendan Rodgers, via a pre-recorded video, said that he and the team are looking forward to their visit to the country.
“I want to say to all our great fans in Indonesia that we are really excited and looking forward to a pre-season trip in July 2013,” said Rodgers.
“We have never played in Indonesia before so we are all very excited and I am very excited to be able to bring all the players from the football club to you our great fans; see you in Jakarta."
Tickets to the match will go on sale on May 11, 2013, ranging from Rp 65,000 (SGD7.60) for a category seven tickets and Rp 3,000,000 (SGD384) for a category one tickets and can be purchased online at myticket.co.id.
Fans that purchased a category 1-3 tickets will get the opportunity to watch Liverpool’s training session at the Gelora Bung Karno stadium.
