The Cleveland Indians signed free-agent catcher Omir Santos to a minor-league deal that includes an invitation to spring training. The 31-year-old batted a combined .310 with 16 doubles, two homers and 30 RBI in 61 games for the Triple-A teams of the Detroit Tigers and Colorado Rockies. He also appeared in three games for the Tigers from May 30 to June 5. Santos has appeared in 121 Major League games with the New York Mets, Baltimore Orioles and Detroit since 2008.
