Indians' Masterson sidelined with oblique injury

Cleveland Indians starter Justin Masterson will miss at least one start and possibly more after an MRI on Tuesday revealed a strained oblique.

Masterson (14-10) has a 3.52 ERA through 29 starts this season. The right-hander started Monday's game against Baltimore but left after five batters because of soreness in his ribcage. It's possible that the injury will sideline the All-Star for the rest of the season.

It's a tough blow for the Indians, who entered Tuesday 3 1/2 games out of the final wild-card spot. Cleveland has dropped six of its last seven games, including Monday's 7-2 loss to the Orioles in which Masterson was saddled with the loss.

Corey Klubler is expected to return from disabled list on Friday and will replace Masterson in the rotation.
