The Cleveland Indians activated designated hitter Travis Hafner from the paternity list, the club announced Saturday.

To make room on the 25-man roster, the Indians optioned infielder/outfielder Vinny Rottino to Class AAA Columbus.

Hafner's wife gave birth to the couple's second child. Hafner had been on the paternity list since Wednesday.

The 35-year-old is hitting .230 with 10 home runs and 29 RBI in 196 at-bats this season.
