The Indianapolis Colts come out of their bye week about to play a very emotional game. Less than a week after finding out that their head coach, Chuck Pagano, was diagnosed with Leukemia, the team will have to face a very difficult challenge against the visiting Green Bay Packers.
This game will be a problem for Indianapolis because many of Green Bay's are Indianapolis' weaknesses. Green Bay will surely look to air it out and pass the ball against a weak Colt secondary. Even without Greg Jennings, this is a major advantage for the Packers and one they will likely look to exploit.
What makes matters even worse for Indianapolis is that they are coming out of the bye week in worse health than before. Several players have missed practices this week which will make it an even bigger challenge. Dwight Freeney may return, but Pat Angerer, Vontae Davis, Justin King, Seth Olsen and Joe Reitz will miss the game with injuries. These are big losses for the team coming out of the bye week. Fans hope every year that the bye week will return a healthy team and it's unfortunate that Indianapolis was not able to accomplish that this year. This team is too weak to be further hampered by the injury bug.
As a Colts' fan, I think the team will come out and play a very good game as they come out and try to win one for their missing coach. It's unfortunate though that they are going up against such a challenging opponent this week. After this one, the next five games are all very winnable and against much lesser opponents. Unfortunately this means the team will need to rise up and play some of their best football to deliver a game ball and a victory for coach Pagano. As much as I'd like to see them accomplish this, I'm going to be realistic and expect a Green Bay victory in this game. The Colts should be able to keep it close but will likely come up short against a talented Green Bay team.
Prediction: Green Bay 31, Indianapolis 27
