SAN ANTONIO, Texas (AP) -- - A dominant defensive performance led Incarnate Word to a 24-0 rout of Langston on Saturday night.
After failing to post a shutout in the program's first four years of existence, the Cardinals (2-1) recorded their second in as many games by holding the Lions to 65 total yards on 62 plays.
Langston had minus-38 rushing yards on 31 carries, a school record for Incarnate Word after allowing only seven yards on the ground a week earlier against Texas College.
Cardinals quarterback Trent Brittain finished 18 of 31 for 197 yards and a 35-yard touchdown pass to Casey Jennings, while Incarnate Word had 208 rushing yards - topping 200 for a second straight game.
