Illinois-Chicago 88, Youngstown State 83, (3 OT)

Gary Talton scored 23 points -- including four free throws late in the third overtime period -- to lead Illinois-Chicago to an 88-83 Horizon League victory over Youngstown State Sunday at the Beeghley Center.

The Flames (15-10, 6-6) snapped a two-game losing streak and completed a regular-season sweep of the Penguins (14-11, 6-6).

Daniel Barnes had 20 points and Josh Crittle had 18 points and 12 rebounds while Hayden Humes added 10 for Illinois-Chicago.

Youngstown State guard Kendrick Perry collected a game-high 29 points, Blake Allen scored 16 and Kamren Belin added 14.

The Flames rallied from being down 54-47 late in regulation. Talton drove to the basket and tied the game at 57-57 with 2 seconds left to send the game into overtime.

In the first overtime, the Penguins' Perry hit his fourth 3-pointer of the game with one second left to tie the game at 66-66 and send the game into a second extra session.

Humes' 3-pointer late in the second overtime tied the game at 72-72 leading to a third overtime.

Illinois-Chicago never trailed in the final extra session as Barnes, Crittle and Talton each had four points. Talton's first two free throws opened an 83-77 lead and two insurance shots with 16 seconds left made the score, 87-83.

The Flames earned their first win on the Penguins' home court since 2009 and extended their series lead over the Penguins to 23-8.

Youngstown State hosts Milwaukee Friday while Illinois-Chicago travels to Loyola Saturday.
