Colts' offense will have plenty of pep under Hamilton

The Indianapolis Star reports that Colts head coach Chuck Pagano revealed after Tuesday's afternoon practice that OL Ben Ijalana and LB A.J. Edds have been lost for the season with knee injuries.

Both players were hurt in Sunday’s opening practice of camp at Anderson University.

Ijalana, second-round pick in 2011, played only four games last season before suffering a torn ACL in his left knee. This latest injury reportedly is in the same knee.

Edds, a third-year veteran, was originially drafted by the Dolphins in 2010 before playing two games with the Patriots and nine games with the Colts in '11. He was a solid special-teams contributor for Indy last season.

“Both have significant knee injuries, both are ACLs,” Pagano said, according to the paper. “Obviously they’re done for the year, which is really, really sad."
