Idaho State beats Portland State 87-76

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) -- Chris Hansen scored 27 points Thursday, Andre Hatchett added 24 and Idaho State rallied to beat Portland State 87-76 in their Big Sky Conference opener.

Portland State (5-5, 0-1) jumped to an 8-2 lead on treys by Marcus Hall and Tim Douglas, but Idaho State (4-6, 1-0) took a 12-11 lead on a 3-pointer by Evann Hall, then pulled ahead on a 9-2 run for a 39-36 halftime lead.

Back-to-back layups by Andre Winston and an 8-0 run gave Portland State a 44-39 second-half lead, but Idaho State regained control at 16:23 on a trey by Chris Hansen and scored 12 free throws in the final 2 minutes for the win.

Thomas Sanchez scored 20, and the Bengals outshot the Vikings from the field 56.5 percent to 40.6 percent.

Winston and DaShaun Wiggins each scored 13 for Portland State, Hall and Douglas had 11 each, and Zach Gengler added 11.
