Ice Hogs 3, Wolves 2

ROCKFORD, Ill. -- Martin St. Pierre scored the tie-breaking \goal with two minutes to play in the second period and the Rockford Ice Hogs held on for a 3-2 victory over the Chicago Wolves in an AHL game at BMO Harris Bank Center.

St. Pierre's game-winner enabled Rockford to defeat the Wolves for the second time in six meetings this season between the Midwest Division rivals.

Brett Sterling's power-play goal at with 4:06 left in the second period tied the score at 2-2. However, St. Pierre scored on a rebound two minutes later for the decisive goal.

Ice Hogs goalie Carter Hutton (11-11-1) made 23 saves to earn the win. Wolves goalie Matt Climie, who has started 10 consecutive games, stopped 36 shots, but took the loss. He had to face 21 shots in the first period alone.

The Wolves (13-10-3-1) got power-play goals from center Andrew Ebbett and Sterling while the IceHogs (16-13-1-1) received goals from Rob Flick, Andrew Shaw and St. Pierre.

Climie allowed three goals for the first time since Dec. 13. His highlight play Thursday night was stopping a penalty shot by Shaw.
