  • Everton has split its games in the ICC thus far, defeating Juventus on penalty kicks after a 1-1 draw and then losing to Real Madrid 2-1.

  • Valencia has also split its games, doing so against both storied Milan teams. Los Che lost the ICC opener to AC Milan at Estadio Mestalla 2-1 before coming back and putting a 4-0 hurting on Inter Milan Sunday in New York.

  • Jonathan Viera scored twice in the victory over Inter, with Ever Banega and Jonas Goncalves also finding the back of the net.

  • In the midst of the tournament, Valencia has seen top striker Roberto Soldado transfer to Tottenham for a 30 million euro transfer fee.

  • Everton, meanwhile, has made an approach for Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld, according to the player's agent.

  • Both teams had similar 2012-13 campaigns in their respective leagues. Valencia won 19 times and amassed 65 points in La Liga en route to a fifth-place finish. Everton won 16 times and collected 63 points on its way to a sixth-place finish in the Premier League.

  • Valencia will be the second Spanish side that Everton's Spanish manager Roberto Martinez will have coached against in this tournament, with Real Madrid being the first.
