Ibrahimovic: No issue with first substitution

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has insisted that he had no issue with being substituted for the first time as a Paris Saint-Germain player in Friday's Ligue 1 clash with Bordeaux.

Ibrahimovic, who set up Blaise Matuidi's opener in the 2-0 win, was replaced by Edinson Cavani with less than 10 minutes to go in the game at the Stade Gerland. It was a notable first for Ibrahimovic, but the forward had no qualms with Laurent Blanc's decision, with the commencement of PSG's Champions League campaign looming large on the horizon.

"It is normal to see rotation given the busy schedule ahead of us in the coming weeks," Ibrahimovic told L'Equipe. "You can get hurt or be less efficient. I expected it. We must conserve ourselves."

There had even been a suggestion that Ibrahimovic might have been left on the bench, given his exertions for Sweden during the international break, but the striker said there had been no chance of that happening.

"Never," Ibrahimovic said. "I did not have any doubt [about starting]. I'm here to play, I'm paid to do so."

As for the victory in Bordeaux, Ibrahimovic was enthused by both the fact that Lucas Moura scored his first goal for PSG and the team's performance as a whole.

"I'm very happy for [Lucas]," Ibrahimovic said. "He has enormous qualities, and the goal will give him confidence for the future. He will continue to be decisive.

"We played a good game, really. I even think it's our best performance of the season. It was of the same level as our return match against Barcelona in the Champions League last season."

PSG will return to European action on Tuesday when it faces Olympiakos in Greece.
