Update: Kennedy has been tabbed as the Opening Day starter for the Diamondbacks, FOXSportsArizona.com reports.
Recommendation: Manager Kirk Gibson said Kennedy would be followed in the rotation by Trevor Cahill, Wade Miley and Brandon McCarthy with the fifth spot still up for grabs. Though Kennedy regressed a bit following a spectacular 21-4 season in 2011, he maintained similar ratios last season and should improve upon last season's 4.02 ERA if he can keep the ball in the park with greater regularity.
