CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) -- Guard Ja'Quan Newton of Philadelphia and three other players have signed national letters of intent to play basketball for the Miami Hurricanes.
James Palmer of Washington, D.C., Omar Sherman of Duncanville, Texas, and Ivan Cruz Uceda of Madrid, Spain, have also signed with the Hurricanes, the school said Thursday.
At Neumann-Goretti High, Newton averaged 18 points last season and has totaled more than 1,300 career points, helping lead his team to three consecutive Catholic League championships.
Palmer is a 6-4 guard, and Sherman is a 6-8 forward. Uceda is a 6-10 forward who will be eligible for two seasons at Miami after two years at Harcum College in Pennsylvania.
