Howard, Zetterberg, Yakupov named 'Three Stars' for week

Detroit Red Wings goaltender Jimmy Howard, Red Wings center Henrik Zetterberg and Edmonton Oilers right wing Nail Yakupov were named the NHL's "Three Stars" for the week, the league announced Monday.

Howard went 4-0-0 with a 0.75 goals-against average, .969 save percentage and had two shutouts in four starts. He combined for 94 saves, including his NHL-leading fifth shutout.

He was 21-13-7 with a 2.13 goals-against average and .923 save percentage over the regular season.

Zetterberg had a league-high 10 points, including eight assists, in four games. Five of his assists were on power plays, also a league high. He was also second in the NHL with a plus-6 rating.

In 46 games this season, Zetterberg led the Red Wings with 37 assists and ranked second on the team with 48 points and five game-winning goals.

Yakupov scored a league-high six goals in four games, including five in the final two games of the regular season. He had his first career hat trick in a 7-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday.

He played all 48 games and led all rookies with 17 goals and 31 points.
