The Texans were edged by the Chiefs, 17-16, in Kansas City.
Case Keenum finished 15 for 25 with 271 yards, one touchdown and one fumble. Alex Smith ended up going 23 of 34 with 240 yards passing, one touchdown (0 pass, 1 rush) and one pick for the Chiefs.
Ben Tate struggled to find running room, gaining only 50 yards on 15 carries. DeAndre Hopkins was a highlight, catching three passes for 76 yards while adding a touchdown.
The Houston defense gave up 126 yards rushing and 231 passing. They sacked Smith two times.
Finally, Randy Bullock was perfect, connecting on all three of his field goal attempts.
Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles was impressive, racking up 86 yards rushing, 37 receiving and one touchdown. Wide receiver Dexter McCluster was also solid with 70 receiving yards.
The Texans will play host to the Colts (4-2) next week while the Chiefs play against the Browns (3-3), also at home.
