FC Dallas defeated 10-man Houston 4-1 at BBVA Compass Stadium to win the Texas Derby and claim El Capitan.
Dallas was awarded a penalty in the 31st minute when Mauro Diaz was taken down in the box, and Michel scored the spot kick to give his team the lead.
Houston tied it up in the 41st minute, Ricardo Clark heading Brad Davis' free kick past Chris Seitz.
David Horst was shown a red card on the hour mark after a harsh tackle on Fabian Castillo.
Dallas soon capitalized on the advantage as Je-Vaughn Watson headed home Mauro Diaz's free kick.
FCD was handed another goal when Giles Barnes, covering Watson, headed the ball into his own net in the 68th minute to make it 3-1.
The visiting side then put the final nail in the coffin, with Watson and Diaz again linking up. Watson timed his run well to get behind the defense and beat the offside call as Diaz picked him out with a nicely-weighted pass.
Houston had a late penalty saved after Jair Benitez took down Kofi Sarkodie in the box. It wasn't Houston's night however, and Seitz saved Oscar Boniek Garcia's spot kick.
