The Montreal Impact's late-season freefall continued as the Houston Dynamo sent the Quebecois club packing in a 1-0 game at BBVA Compass Stadium.
Ricardo Clark scored the game's only goal in just the sixth minute. Oscar Boniek Garcia's long pass was chested down adroitly by Giles Barnes into the path of Clark, who turned Collen Warner inside out and ripped a shot past Troy Perkins from 25 yards away.
Houston (13-10-8) jumps past Montreal (13-10-7) and into third place in the Eastern Conference. More worrying for Montreal has to be its dire form in the tail end of the season. In their last four games, the Impact have lost three and drawn one, pushingthe one-time Shield contenders down into the playoff scrap.
