Horton reaches deal with Titans

The SportsXchange

The Tennessee Titans reached an agreement with Ray Horton to be their new defensive coordinator, CBS Sports reported Saturday, citing a league source.

Horton served as the Cleveland Browns' defensive coordinator in 2013 and is reportedly among the highest-paid assistant coaches in the NFL. When the Browns fired head coach Rob Chudzinski at the end of the regular season, they allowed their assistants to seek other coaching opportunities.

New Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt chose Horton. They worked together when Whisenhunt coached the Arizona Cardinals. Horton went to the Browns after Whisenhunt was fired by the Cardinals following the 2012 season.

Browns offensive coordinator Norv Turner has been in talks to work under new Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer.
