Holy Cross never trailed but had to hold off Navy late for a 66-57 win Tuesday night in Worcester, Mass. The Crusaders were led by Justin Burrell's 14 points along with Dave Dudzinski's 13 points and eight rebounds. The Midshipmen (7-18, 1-8 Patriot League) got a game-high 19 points and eight rebounds from Worth Smith, and 14 points from Brandon Venturini. Holy Cross (11-13, 3-6) raced out to an early 11-2 advantage in the first 3:33 of the game and led by as many as 18 points in the first half, going into intermission with a 43-28 advantage. Still, Navy battled to the end, getting the Crusaders' lead down to five on a Will Kelly layup with 1:58 remaining, but those would be the last points the Midshipmen would score.
