Holy Cross 65, Loyola (Maryland) 52

Junior forward Malcolm Miller scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds, leading Holy Cross to a 65-52 victory over Loyola (Maryland) on Wednesday at Reitz Arena in Baltimore.

Holy Cross (18-11, 12-5 Patriot League) won for the sixth time in seven games. Freshman guard Anthony Thompson and sophomore forward Eric Green contributed 12 points apiece. Freshman forward Malachi Alexander added nine points and 10 boards for the Crusaders, who outrebounded the Greyhounds 36-27.

Sophomore forward Franz Rassman scored 15 points for Loyola, which lost its sixth game in a row. Greyhounds junior guard R.J. Williams added 13 points.

The score was tied at 12 before senior center Dave Dudzinski made a jumper and Miller followed with a 3-pointer, giving Holy Cross a 17-12 lead with 9:56 remaining in the opening half. Loyola (10-18, 5-12) reclaimed the lead at 18-17 on a layup by senior forward Jordan Latham.

Loyola led 30-27 at the break and extended its lead to 33-27 early in the second half, but Holy Cross rallied to take a 37-35 advantage on a 3-pointer by Alexander with 15:47 to go.

The Greyhounds trailed 42-40 after Rassman made a 3-pointer with 10:01 to play, but the Crusaders pulled away with 8-1 and 6-1 runs that put them up 56-45 with 3:58 remaining.
