AP - Sports

KENT, Ohio (AP) -- Randal Holt scored 16 points and Chris Evans had 12 points and 12 rebounds as Kent State defeated Bowling Green 69-61 Tuesday night for its fourth consecutive victory.

Evans also had seven assists for the Golden Flashes (18-12, 8-7 Mid-American Conference), who solidified their hold on a potential fourth seed - and byes through two rounds - in next week's conference tournament. Darren Goodson added 12 points off the bench.

Kent State led 35-18 with 2:24 remaining in the first half, but the Falcons (12-18, 6-9) closed the half with an 11-0 run and took their only lead of the game, 58-57, on Craig Sealey's dunk with 7:29 left.

Two free throws by Holt put the Golden Flashes ahead to stay, and a three-point play and a layup by Mark Henniger made it 64-58 with 4:59 left.

A'uston Calhoun scored 13 points and Jordon Crawford 12 for Bowling Green.
