Restricted free-agent defenseman Thomas Hickey re-signed with the New York Islanders' for two-years, the team announced Thursday.
The 24-year-old made his NHL debut last season and had four points and a plus-nine rating in 39 games. He also appeared in two of the team's six playoff games.
Hickey was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings No. 4 overall in 2007, but after 212 games in the American Hockey League, he was waived and claimed by the Islanders in January of this year.
