Herman Echevarria Sr. Dies: ‘Real Housewives Of Miami’ Husband Was 61
Herman Echevarria Sr., the 61-year-old estranged husband of Real Housewives of Miami star Alexia Echevarria who himself was featured in the Bravo reality series, was found dead in a Miami hotel room today. The death, thought to be due to a heart attack, was first reported by the Miami Herald, and is under investigation by the Miami police department.
Echevarria, the cofounder of Miami’s Spanish-language Venue magazine, was a Cuban exile and Miami-area politico who, according to the Herald, played a significant role in Hialeah’s successful negotiations with Miami on an arena deal to keep the Miami Heat in Miami for 30 years.
He was more familiar, though, to Real Housewives fans as the husband of Real Housewife Alexia Echevarria, who issued a statement today on Instagram. “He was a family man, a hardworking businessman, dedicated to helping others and a pillar of his community that was loved by everyone who’s life he touched.”
The couple separated last year after 15 years of marriage.
