Heck joins Chiefs as offensive line coach

The Kansas City Chiefs hired former Jacksonville assistant Andy Heck as their offensive line coach.

Heck coached the offensive line for nine years with the Jaguars and has 22 years of coaching experience in the NFL. He also spent 12 years in the league as a player with Washington, Chicago and Seattle.

Before choosing Heck, hew head coach Andy Reid interviewed former New York Jets offensive coordinator Tony Sparano for the offensive line job.

In addition to Heck's hiring, the Chiefs named Kevin O'Dea as an assistant special-teams coach, joining new special-teams coach Dave Toub on Reid's staff. O'Dea worked in Chicago with Toub, who left the Bears after four years for the Chiefs.
