Harvin targets earlier return
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Percy Harvin was not expected to return after hip surgery until at least November, but he hinted Wednesday that he could be back sooner than anticipated.
Harvin is eyeing a Thursday night game against the Arizona Cardinals on Oct. 17 for his possible debut with the Seahawks. That's the first game for which he's eligible to come off the reserve/physically unable to perform list.
"What's goin 12th man just checkn in ...I'm making serious progress ...keep an eye on week 7...don't hang them 11's up.....we workn," Harvin tweeted.
The Seahawks have given no indication of a timetable in Harvin's recovery from a torn labrum. But he tweeted, "I'm starving so bad to get on this field my ribs showing....there's nothing worse then watching ur boys battle and u can do nothin.just wait"
The Seahawks landed the 25-year-old Harvin in a trade with the Minnesota Vikings in March for a first-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.
Harvin had 280 receptions for 3,302 yards and 20 touchdown catches, four rushing TDs and five kickoff returns for scores in four seasons with the Vikings.
